Maybe.

I was hoping b122251 would have released his mod tool by now.

There was a tool to mod called WinTRSCP but it is not user friendly.

Not very user friendly indeed but I did manage to place some triggers. Unfortunately it's not possible to edit/replace or remove triggers. You can only add them, which works but it's a bit messy...

I did manage to "delete" a trigger (as far as FexInspect is concerned) by copy/pasting one of my own triggers over one of Core's triggers. By placing new triggers on top of those "deleted" triggers, it creates this monstrosity (EDIT: Upon further inspection, this is actually just 2 triggers stacked on top of each other and not the broken mess that I thought it was). In this case, the game still triggers Core's fog colour 13 instead of the 19 I placed. So, thinking I discovered some sort of trick, I actually accomplished nothing at all

Another thing I noticed is that the filesize is smaller even though I added triggers to the level. Makes me wonder if the program corrupts something in the level like most of our other unsupported tools.

I had a look at changing trigger floor data.

Changing everything about a trigger is complicated and will take some time to work out so first up I'll allow only changing timer so you can at least change fog colour.

Hey sapper, it would be possible with fexinspect to change a light type? I would like to add fog bulbs in my TRC level file using Fexinspect, thanks!

Default New version

^ I don't know. Could be tricky. How do you do lighting in TRC levels now?

fexinspect1_2rev17.zip

Code:
FexInspect 1.2 Revision 17 - sapper August 2020

Bugfix: Saving TR4 levels disabled sounds. Soundmap now saved correctly.
This bug existed from revision 14.

Added: Ability to edit some trigger properties. (Bit buttons, one shot, timer)
When a sector with a trigger is selected in 2D grid double click the trigger info
window to open the "Edit trigger" dialog. Remember to save the level to keep the changes.

Added: Fog bulbs now displayed for TR5 levels.

Changed: Colours for some light types. Fog bulbs -> light green, shadow bulbs -> grey

Restored: Ability to save level.

Note there was only minimal testing so ensure you have backup copies of your level.

Built with free Delphi 10.3.2 Community Edition.

Hey!
I use an old tool: TRED by MontyTRC to make TRC levels using NGLE. When I put a fog bulb in NGLE and convert to TRC format using TRED, nothing shows up. Using Fexinspect it shows that there is a fog bulb, with the same values as the original game (0xCD) but nothing is shown ingame.
Using an older version of TombEditor (which supported TRC output) to place fog bulbs it shows the fog values of TR4 bulb (light type = 4) and again, nothing is shown ingame. So, I would like to know if it would be possible to add a method to edit the values of a light (colour, radius, etc). Thanks again, sapper.

Hmm by using the new version of Fexinspect i can compare the values now:

Fog bulb by TRED:

Light Type: 205 (= 0xCD Fog Bulb)

Colour rgb (0.75 0.56 0.94)

Pos. xyz (15872.00 -4352.00 13824.00)
unknown values (1440.00 7.91 352.00)

___________________________________________

Andy1 Room 135 fog bulb:

Light Type: 205 (= 0xCD Fog Bulb)

Colour rgb (0.53 0.66 0.58)

Pos. xyz (79360.00 9216.00 65024.00)
unknown values (1920.00 3686399.98 896.00)

I always get this same small values in the unknow field: (1440.00 7.91 352.00)
maybe this the reason is not working properly?

Thank you for the update!
There's a bug when editing triggers. It disables sound effects in that level.
I only changed the fog triggers in karnak1.tr4 room 0 from 13 to 19. I can upload the edited and unedited version if you need them.

Maybe the bug is in saving the level.

Can you test opening the working level in Fexinspect and do nothing else but save it?

Let me know if sound effects still work.

ReH just checking you enable VolumeFx in set up and xyz co-ords are in the room.

I made no changes and the sound effects are gone again. So it is in saving the level.
I tried rev 13 and it works, so something must have broken in between these 2 version somehow.

OK found the bug.

I introduced it into revision 14 when I added ability to read and save v130 soundmaps. I was saving the soundmap incorrectly for normal TR4.

Will upload fixed version tomorrow.
