Sophie is so encoded for Lara it would be a waste not to use her. She has the kinetic energy to transmute all her past characters into Lara, just like Angelina did before turning Gia and Girl Interrupted into Tomb Raider energy. Just like Alicia did with her Ex-Machina energy turning it into a videogame character with a spark of AGI. Just like Camilla did with her Royal energy turning her Role as Kate Middleton into the Royal bloodline of Lara's Lineage. Now Sophie will take her suffering in GOT and become the Queen of the realm through transmuting that energy of pain and struggle of Sansa as well as TR2013, into her transformation as Lara Croft.
What I love about Sophie is she's taken damage. She's the real life version of Lara's 2013 baby-face after years of being hardened. Her beauty is tough and worn. But she's resilient. There's a deeper more interesting quality to her beauty. And now she takes the throne after the hard earned war of GOT. So what if she didn't win a golden globe yet? Lara's two golden globes have already been fulfilled. Now we go for the crown. Sophie wins a major award IN the role of Lara Croft. Tomb Raider is a prestigious, historic, and dynamic property. It deserves recognition. I believe in Sophie and Bridge to get the ultimate artifact. The academy award (or golden globe whichever it is.) |

Listen, you're clearly a fan of Sophie's and I respect that, but she does not fit Lara in any way. Above and beyond that, comparing her to Angelina Jolie just feels insanely ambitious for someone people largely cannot stand*.
*not meaning everyone on earth, obviously, do not even start. |

The more time passes and the more actresses are nominated to play Lara Croft, the more I realize how perfect Angelina was for the role.
I really wish she had more movies. |

I feel like that with Alicia it's so sad that she will only have gotten to play the role once when she was the literal saving grace of the reboot film.
