Always nice to wake up to fresh TR3 appreciation posts

Also welcome, synthsequence Thanks for sharing your thoughts. I'd love to go through the classic series for the second time again, that's awesome.

Aldwych, particularly finding the secrets, annoyed me first and second times through, that element still does TBH. The Mason's temple door maze, in fact that whole area drags so I suppose I do agree the pacing in that level is not the most consistent.

Lud's Gate, apart from the stupid diver's room glitch, I generally enjoy whether going the long or short routes. That time element in the underwater sections - finding the breathing space, getting back to it is entertaining gameplay for me.

The uncertain shooting when using the UPV is an annoyance but you can learn how to use it fairly quickly so its not big issue.
Well if there's a secret that you forgot to get into, then the only way what you can do is a corner glitch to take yourself up to a roof and dive on to that wood building then climb up on to another building roof then the secret you need to go to is at the left where that platform is at. That was probably one of the secrets I forgot to get a long time ago in Thames Wrarf. Aldwych and Lud's gate are definitely very easy levels for me to complete as well. The thing what will probably be hard for you new TR3 gamers is for you to slide on a slope and climb up to a crawling space so you can crawl into another secret room you need to get in Antarctica which I believe that'll be challenging for you to go to in that level.

If I'm understanding correctly, you're saying that with one of the Thames Wharf secrets, if you miss it and go beyond a certain point you can only get back to it if you use a corner glitch. Yes?

Its not quite clear where you're talking about but the only point after which it is difficult to get back to the start area without using a glitch is when you take the short route to the crane platform or the long route and slide down the slope in the passageway towards the water cistern area where the guard, for some reason, is armed and decides to shoot at LC.

There are plenty of other levels, some with glitches, like the Lud's Gate one where the secret is not just glitched but also totally obscure, and others not glitched which are tricky or impossible to get back too past a certain point.

The River Ganges first secret for example can not be collected once you jump across the river and there's another one, very similar, later which is very difficult to get back to as well, but not impossible.

Some other secret's areas are easy to miss or have almost unfathomable criteria eg. last secret in Aldwych. That is, of course, unless you're making it simple for yourself and using a guide.

Its a tough old game even for those not new to TR and suggesting Lud's Gate and Aldwych are very easy flies in the face countless post in this forum over the last 20 or more years saying the opposite.

Yes. This is the early appearance of her and there's probably not even a playable game build that shows her own appearance like this anyway.

Does anyone know what exactly is that quicksand in Luds Gate actually is? Is it like sewer garbage or what? lol. It's by the swinging and pouncing metal things.

So...
I don't even know when was the last time I played TR3 (it was probably around 2007). For a long time now, the game was on my mind and finally caved in.
Despite I really hate how "clean" looking the pc version is (I've only played the ps1) I'm having a blast with it.
Come to think of it, it's really strange how some areas and levels are burnt in my mind... especially when it comes to nevada and india. London only gives me PTSD, so that I'll leave for last
