Lightbulb Design the Control Configuration & Moves

I find it quite fun to imagine the best control configuration in conjunction with what moves or equipment you'd like to see in the next game. Here are my ideas, based on the PS4 controller.

Movement controls:

(X) Jump.
(Square) Interact and (while in mid air) Grab. (No need to hold.)
(Triangle) Crowbar/axe Strike with a 3 hit combo. Hold for Heavy Strike.
(Circle) Manoeuvrable forward Roll.
(L2) Aim weapon.
(R2) Primary Ammo Fire.
(R1) Secondary Ammo Fire.
(L1) Tap to toggle Crouch, impeding speed by 25%, doubling as stealth and crawl. Hold to Sprint. (Tap in mid air to Throw Grapple.)
(^) Use Health Item (Employing Rise's Fast Bandage animation).
(<) Cycle Weapons Left.
(>) Cycle Weapons Right.
(v) Ignite/Throw Magnesium Flare.
(L3) N/A
(R3) Snap Centre Camera and Display UI.
(Left analogue stick) Move Lara.
(Right analogue stick) Rotate Camera.
(Options) Options.
(Press Touchpad) Inventory.

Swimming controls:

(Left analogue stick) Steer left, right, up and down.
(Right analogue stick) Rotate Camera while immobile.
(X) Hold to Swim.
(Square) Interact.
(Circle) 180 degree turn
(L2) Aim underwater weapon.
(R2) Primary Ammo Fire.
(R1) Secondary Ammo Fire.

Vehicle controls:

(Square) Dis/Mount
(R2) Accelerate
(L2) Reverse
(X) Fire Primary Ammo
(Circle) Fire Secondary Ammo

Weapons I'd have:

Dual HK Pistols with an all platinum finish, Cradle of Life style, with secondary ammo being Hollow Point bullets; negating the need for magnums or the like.
Dual IMI Micro Uzis with secondary ammo being poison gas pellets (or something).
SPAS-12 Shotgun with Incendiary Shells as secondary ammo.
30 Round M16 with a Snipe Mode and dedicated high power snipe bullets.
Speargun/Crossbow/Bow with secondary ammo being Explosive Tipped Spears/Bolts/Arrows

Anyway, here's a template if you wished to share your ideal button assignment.

Oh should be fun, I love doing those kind of things. I like your suggestion, I will review this later.

(X) Tap : jump / double tap : flip / hold : higher jump
(Square) Tap : action or grab (in the air) or block (combat) / hold : light
(Triangle) Use special object / hold : help mode (optional)
(Circle) Tap : roll / hold : crouch
(L2) Aim weapon
(R2) Fire weapon / throw grapple
(R1) Aim grapple
(L1) Tap : melee attack (with combos) / hold : powerful melee attack
(^) Tap : select heavy weapon / hold : menu selection
(<) Tap : select special object / hold : menu selection
(>) Tap : small medipack / hold : big medipack
(v) Tap : select light weapon / hold : menu selection
(L3) Sprint
(R3) Recenter camera
(Left analogue stick) Move Lara
(Right analogue stick) Move camera
(Options) Options
(Press Touchpad) Inventory and map

Swimming controls :

(X) Ascend
(Square) Action
(Triangle) Use special waterproof object
(Circle) Tap : dodge / hold : descend
(L2) Aim underwater weapon
(R2) Fire underwater weapon
(R1) Hold to swim
(L1) Tap : melee attack (with combos) / hold : powerful melee attack
(L3) Swim faster
(R3) Recentre camera
(Left analogue stick) Move Lara
(Right analogue stick) Drive Lara or move camera (immobile)

Vehicle controls :

(X) Jump from vehicle
(Square) Dis/mount
(Triangle) Use special object
(Circle) Stylish slide
(L2) Accelerate vehicle
(R2) Decelerate vehicle and stop / skid
(R1) Fire weapon
(L1) Shove vehicles or ennemies
(L3) Turbo
(R3) Recentre camera
(Left analogue stick) Drive vehicle
(Right analogue stick) Move camera

How about these innovative next generation controls?

Run: Up + Down + Left + Right Arrow

Jump: Alt

Action: Ctrl

Walk: Shift

Crouch: .

Roll: Up Arrow + Down Arrow

Draw Weapon: Space Bar

Just kidding, but the Playstation controls look so complicated.

The current control configuration is OK and should stay. But I would do some adjustments if new features/moves are added:

1) Weapon selecting: Since in a perfect world of mine, there are no multiple weapon types, I would configure weapon choosing the Right and Left D-Pad. From left to right: Dual Pistols, Dual Magnums, Dual Uzis, Shotgun, MP5 Rifle, Crossbow.

2) Alternate ammo: There’s only one alternate ammo for all weapons, and it should be configured to R1.

3) Flashlight: Up D-Pad

4) Healthpack: Down D-Pad

I like this layout only I’d rather have crouch or sprint on LS rather than share a button with crouch and I’d rather have the throw grapple button on either square or R1 as these make more sense to me than L1.

Mine was basically based from Shadow with some unashamed inspiration from Seth.

It would feature all Underworld and Shadow's possibilities, minus crafting (still exist but in inventory) and maybe surreal acrobatic moves (I imagine Reboot Lara more of a parkour girl).

As for weapons :

Light : Dual pistols, Uzi, Desert Eagle, Magnums, taser gun, tribal sedative.
Heavy : Shotgun, riffle gun, harpoon gun, grenade launcher, missile launcher, flamethrower, bow.

As for "special objects"

Spears, axes, dynamites, machete, crowbar, binoculars, camera, gas mask, oxygen mask, etc...
