Right, I've seen that picture before. That's too bad that line got deleted and that level or scene.
I think that's how they made AoD so confusing, is the many lines and scenes that they cut. Maybe they were thinking about adding it to its sequel so it could expand more. |

No anything cut from the levels we got was gone for good, it happens with most games, just part of the development process. Not every idea is going to make it into the game.

Hmm, well, that sucks. Does that include the lines? I remember hearing one of the lines that was cut in YouTube and it explained a little more about the Nephilim, Lux Veritatis, the Cabal. Lines that were good for information.

Some lines were from trailers, or early versions seen at the game conventions, it does not mean they were going to be in the final version, since AOD was behind in production often things seen were changed shortly after. Or done especially for something and never seen again. If Core had been given unlimited time possibly they might have included a lot of things they did not, but time is money and schedules have to be kept. The more time they were given the more they pulled the game apart and reconstructed it, hoping to make it better, l think l would have preferred the game that was meant to be released in Nov 2002. a lot seemed to have been dropped because they could not "remake" it in time.

What an amazing insight into the game that could have been. Totally wasted opportunity.

l thought everyone had lost interest, so gave up.
Karl a German Guard from Castle Kriegler Luther Rouzic keeper of the Strahov archives, who does seem to have had his textures recycled for some of the Sanitarium inmates. Perhaps he was the nephilim originally sacrificed for the advancement of the nephilim research. Before being completely deleted from the game he seems to have undergone a slight change. And of course the deleted character we all know about the Shaman, strange we have no concept art for her though. It would be interesting to know how long she had actually been included in the game, before being deleted, along with the amulet we were to use for strength upgrades and hints. The Amulet as it would have appeared in the inventory Last edited by aussie500; 07-12-07 at 12:40. |

Ah, we haven't lost interest, aussie!! Keep posting, please.
Too bad these two characters weren't introduced and the German Guard wasn't in the game either. Were they planning on introducing Luther in the next AoD game? |

Considering the way they went with the story in AOD, l would think both the Shaman and Rouzic were dropped never to return. It would have been hard to introduce the Amulet and Shaman in the continuation, since she was never mentioned in AOD. Rouzic being keeper of the Strahov archives would have had to have undergone a change of location probably. Personally l doubt they would have used him in the second game, but we will probably never know for sure.
This one is supposedly from Turkey. |
