I agree with the context you gave in the example but that's not what happened. I didn't use it in a negative way at all. It was a blunt and neautral observation. Lara looks like a transvestite with that mod. I do not think she looks "trans" or "transgender." My statement has nothing to do with a transgendered person. In that picture, with that mod, she looks (in my opinion) like a man dressing up as a woman. Which is what a transvestite is. And NOT what a transgender person is. |

This Lara wasn't developed to use makeup at all. Even though the mod is cool.
Someone could make a mod where you could use any outfit in paititiland. Now that would be awesome. |

I don't mean to aggravate the subject even more, but to me the way you (SoraSakai) said she looks like a transvestite felt like you said it in a way that it sounded like an insult, transvestite is perceived mostly as a slur mostly due to being used as an insult for many years, cross dresser (which is what I assume you were referring to) is a more acceptable term now.
we shouldn't be quick to attack someone, she might just not be knowledgable of the subject |

You're right though. I don't like it because she looks like a transvestite because Lara isnt a transvestite. So in that context, yes it's a negative. It would be the same as me not liking the fact that 2013 Lara looks Asian. She shouldn't look Asian because she isn't Asian. Just like I don't think she should look like a man cross dressing because she isn't a transvestite. All that's happened here is some people stupidly confused the difference between "transgender" and "transvestite". It's only an insult in the context of calling a transgender person a "transvestite" which isn't what I did at all. Cross dressing is a form of transvestism, you're absolutely right. The word "transvestite", by itself is not an offensive term. The way I used it also wasn't offensive or derogatory of anyone. |

But nooooo, you're the one who is right. The last few pages have very clearly shown how knowledgeable of the subject you are. |

I am correct. I didn't call any transgender person a transvestite. So your statement is irrelevant. Stop looking for something to be offended over. It looks exhausting. |

I prefer the normal model, this mod looks like a bad contouring job, which I suppose, it is.

I am so confused here....
So from what I personally understand.. Transvestite = someone who dresses us as the other sex Transgender = someone who wants to BE the opposite sex. From what I can see.. they are two different things. Much like guys who drag act. They aren't always transgender and are simply dressing up to entertain.. right? I'll admit that I also thought what SoraSakai said.. but I perhaps would have worded it differently. Maybe she looks like a clown etc (Not that I am insinuating transvestites look like clowns) Last edited by dcw123; 18-10-18 at 09:51. |
