Activision-Blizzard is in a digusting state because of the marketing teams basically having a saying on how stuff goes.
I remember reading posts and news about this, and the issue regarding the marketing teams, and it gets annoying
What was wrong with the marketing

Nothing could be worse than those ugly renders they used to do for Core.

Generally I thought the marketing was fine.

However I did dislike that they showed a trailer for a story that didn't happen.

Don't show me events like Lara interrupting a ceremony atop a pyramid:
1. If it isn't in the game. Or, alternatively...
2. If it didn't happen "off screen" in the game universe somewhere instead.
I see what they did with the trailer as almost a form of deceit.

And I think the trailer was more exciting than the story we actually got...... which probably annoys me most.

I always thought that the E3 cinematic trailer teased a completely different story.

Totally. TBH I expected more action and horror from the trailer. And I would have liked it, keeping at least the same amount of platforming and puzzle we had in the final game.

I would have liked if Paititians were hostile towards Lara, and not the "generic friendly tribe".

the CGI trailer gave me goosebumps. That scene in the trailer when the boy was to be sacrificed and at the very moment lara stabbed the ugly guy, and then the boy gave lara that strange look and ran (as if she can't be trusted) and lara be standing in front of a crowd as they witness the eclipse making the viewers confused and think what has lara done and what will happen now? that trailer literally hyped me up. Rise's trailer was relatable with the actual game to some level but the dark theme shadow's trailer brought was blown away when i saw the gameplay.

Yeah I agree. We didn't get the story I was expecting based on the trailer.

I think Shadow is enjoyable for what it is BUT it has major flaws in it's design (Outfit Restriction, Lack of Classic Iconography, Lara regressed, bad story). It is still my favorite from the trilogy and could be even better if outfit restriction was non existent and we had croft manor. But it'll never happen.

croft manor may happen but I'm not sure about outfit restriction.
