I think it was on the top cow comics, but Lara had a rival called Carter and the exchanges between the two of them were super interesting. There was him raiding for money vs her just so she could add a new shiny artifact to her personal inventory. Neither was particularly righteous nor evil. I quite liked that.

It kinda makes me wonder why Core Design never tried to make a Witchblade game since it kinda looks like their relationship with Top Cow was good.

No offense to some members of Core but they were kinda toxic in their attitude. They didnt want to make TR anymore yet they didnt seem to want to give it to other Core teams cause they enjoyed the money too much. A lot of interviews ex Core employees have done in recent years seem to mention that they didnt like it but did it for thr money and it created rifts.
