Thanks for the cover and sample page anyway, always like to add things to the collection of info.

Interesting read.
I never realized Lara could jump as far as 4 squares.

I've got a small book called Tomb Raider Player's Bible - The Complete Mapped Solution, which was given away free with Powerstation issue 14 in the UK, I'm guessing sometime in early 1997. It contains what I assume to be the magazine walkthrough, which though brief and succinct, was more than enough to help me through the game first time round, alongside some iffy maps of each level.

It doesn't bring much new to the table, but may hold curiosity value. Sadly I possess neither a scanner nor a digi-camera in order to provide photos as yet, but if anyone is interested in seeing it I'm sure something can be sorted. I scanned through this thread and found no mention of the book so figured someone may be interested?

Thanks to jakobsen for pointing out all the early Russian Gameland magazines (Страна Игр) are now scanned or at least done with a digital camera. Here are those I could find, and a few pages from the walkthrough in the Jan 1997 issue. Someone who actually speaks Russian might need to round up the other scans, although I will keep looking.

Страна Игр #5 1996

Страна Игр #8 1996

source http://forum.3doplanet.ru

The next issue from Jan 1997 had a walkthough, I will post the first page for the render they used which we saw on one of the boxes the game came in.

You can look through the info on the magazine issues on the publisher site http://www.gameland.ru/magazines/si/archive/ if anyone wants to maybe selectively download just the Tomb Raider related ones from a massive torrent. The publisher does offer pdf versions of the later magazines, but not the early ones.

Here are the covers Tomb Raider managed to get.

And if anyone could find a scan of this Russian magazine who's cover we already have it would be nice.

Brilliant. I love being able to see magazine articles and covers from back in the day. I was too young to take notice of them when they were first published so it's great to see how Lara whipped up a storm.
