You know, sometimes even the background matters to catch the eye even on something WIP

What tools do you use to make this playable on PS1?

I am unclear about what tools were even used to build this. Clearly it wasn't TRLE, NGLE, or DXTRE3D, so what is it?

And if we really have to have a physical PS1 to play this, I am not sure you are going to have many players to be honest. I have a PS1, but I don't have a TV that would work with it, and I don't care to mess with emulators.

I will be forever confused about why easier tools weren't used (TE), because you can absolutely achieve PS1 atmosphere and aesthetic with it. Sabatu does this very well.

This project is built in DXtre3d I imagine, as b122251s tr1 PC to PSX tool doesn't handle TE levels, unfortunately!! If one wants to actually make a PS1 level, they have to keep in mind many limitations and must use DX.
All of this began when b122251 released his 1:1 tr1 and tr2 gold ports for the PS1- alongside the tools he used to do the converting.

TE levels with tomb1main are great and can mimick a ps1 feel without texture smoothing indeed however, it's still not the PS1. There's a specific pride to getting a level working. Spent ages getting Nordic Adventure and Hidden Dagger going on the PS1 and was very happy to be successful! highly commend this specific project for, having the PS1 in mind from the very start.

Many still love emulating the classics due to the sony exclusives and feel. I don't imagine this being a PS1 release will deter players at all- I assume many of us have epsxe/duckstation hiding on our drives ahaha

I remember trying to convert a very simple room created in TE with the TR2PCPSX and TR3PCPSX conversion tools and it was a success, it even loaded the level on PSX, the problem was that the textures were all buggy and the audio didn't work either.

Yeah my bad this is what I meant - the tool claims success yet completely unplayable with the textures and audio lacking. Feders Nightmare in China also gave many many broken polys, every so often a tile corner glitches out to become a tr4 like joint across the map

That trailer got me hooked, especially that castle area.
Then I saw it was uploaded 2 years ago... hope we get a release soon.
