Default Lara making less sounds compared to TR2?

Hi,

just started playing TR3 and Lara makes a lot less grunts and sounds when doing various stuff. So far, compared to TR2, she doesn't make a sound when:

1. Running into a wall
2. Hitting a wall while mid-air
3. Picking up items
4. Doesn't always make a sound when jumping, only sometimes.

It makes the game feel kinda quiet and mute, especially compared to TR2. Is this a bug with some sounds missing or were they intentionally cut?

Thanks.

It's not a bug, it's normal. I interpret it as Lara getting stronger as the games go by so much that she no longer exerts when hitting walls.

Regrding #2, TR2 was the only one where she says "Aha" when picking up items anyway, and with #4, in all of the classics when she jumps she'll only make a sound 50% of the time, so that's not a change.

From a technical standpoint, those “bumping into a wall” animations still have a sound effect assigned to them, but the effect is not enabled in TR3 and onward. It’s probably safe to say that was intentional.

Also the “aha” sound is OS specific. The mac versions allow the “aha” sound to be enabled or disabled.

Huh, I wonder if TR3-5 happen to have a unique sound assigned, or if it's just residually the TR2 sounds...

Thanks for the responses. Good to know that it's not a bug.
