For my level I tried the savegame panel, but when I save and load I notice that the screenshot is completely pixelated.
Does anyone know how to change that?

Thanks in advance for your help

I just played "Pierre's Christmas adventure" and very honestly it's the best Christmas TR level I've ever played. It's not so much with the gameplay but the story-line is so perfect and funny ! Huge thank you to Mbog because it is truly a christmas masterpiece !

Awww thank you but also i have to say LateRaider inspired me to make this level. If it weren't for his avatar and support for Larson x Pierre it would ve never crossed my mind to make it. He deserves the credit too it's true that the story and sort of insight in Larson and Pierre s life is the most important part... more so than the gameplay.

I'm glad you're enjoying it

From all the Xmas themed TRLEs released this year there are much more impressive releases like Christmas in Seville and AgentXp's Prague level, also the Reboot Manor level which have so much thought and heart put into them from the level design to their gameplay and story. Also what better way to symbolise Xmas spirit of bringing everyone together than a group project, am I right ? Everyone deserves a round of applause.

Whats the best way to get nice looking shadows under Lara.

I used the FLEP patch to give the PSX style shadow (smooth shadows) under Lara - which gets rid of the octagonal hard shadow and gives it the PSX rounded one - I believe it used sprite 14
In-game however its horrible pixelated - like REALLY pixelated and stretched out (which becomes more noticable when she crawls)

I'm tempted just to switch back to the PC style shadow now..
Unless I can alter the sprite to be of a higher quality?
I could make the sprite smaller perhaps?
What would be the best method?

Here's a comparison on my current TRLE setup patched with FLEP - the PC version of TR4 and the PSX version's shadows on the right..

Turning on Bi-linear filtering fixes the shadow - but I never really liked seeing the level/object textures this way (being able to see the level grid for example)

I think I have found the reason why I had a few problems with lighting. The display was set too bright. Now that is corrected, I should be able to work with the lighting better and not make everything too dark

You can choose which sprite is selected in the wad in FLEP, by default it uses sprite 14. Maybe try changing the sprite in your wad? I mean I use this one:

And here is the result:

It's normal shadow behaviour, sorry. Seems that PS1 shadow used vertex colours instead of texture (same technique Naughty Dog used in Crash Bandicoot to avoid pixelation), that's why it looks smooth.

As a workaround, you can increase shadow sprite size to maximum (256x256) and theoretically use alpha-blended texture to get nice gradient (you need to use WadTool for that). If you will just make plain white 256x256 circle, it won't look realistic.
