My main gripe with Sony on this is they gave them a budget and just left them to it. Them coming out to say it took too long to make and was too expensive really is more of a bad look on them for not managing their studios well.. DG performed really well. It deserved better than Sony gave it.

Days Gone 2 petition has over 200 thousand signatures
https://www.gamingbible.com/news/pla...97620-20240116 Hopefully we'll get a sequel someday. I'd like to see Boozer and his puppy, Sarah, Rikki, Addison, Alkai and Cope in the sequel they are my favourite NPC's The most irritating characters were Colonel Garrett who I couldn't take seriously because of his resemblance to John Cheese I kept expecting him to do the Hitler walk and Skizzo he was very annoying, my one regret is that his death was quick I'd have preferred it if he'd been torn to pieces by a horde of Freakers. The one area that the sequel needs to improve is to not have Deke return to a settlement that he had just left to get mission info, that happened so many times I eventually got tired of having to constantly return to the place I had just left. Deke has a radio just give him the mission info that way, it would cut down on unnecessary backtracking. The other thing I'd prefer not to see in the sequel online trophies which were unnecessarily patched into the first game. |

I adored this game and I could not understand the weird hate campagin behind it when it released for being "buggy". Spiderman 2, Starfield, all these other games release with tons of bugs and nobody complains.

Copycat IP. It can stay dead afaic.
Which apparently will since, as of June 2021, the studio has been reportedly "working on a very exciting new IP that they’re very, very passionate about. They’re building on the deep open-world systems that they developed with Days Gone" . |

I tried it a couple of times and I just could not get into it. Which... I love a bit of post-apocalyptic struggles....
It just shows there is more to a game than concept, environments, graphics, technological accomplishment. Gameplay matters and it is not just "stuff to do". Not for me anyway but also I believe for most people, which is why this game did not sell gazzillions.. |

I would love the next TR game to be modeled after the gameplay of Days Gone. Just Lara tooling around the various hub areas on her Norton, exploring the archaelogical digs, tombs, cave systems, and running over small furry (endangered) animals that go squeak along the way.
