I agree. Her performance in Shadow was generally more relaxed and confident. Even so though, at the end, we're kind of promised a new Lara in the game, and I'd love to see how Camilla would tackle that.

For me, I am curious how this more mature Lara would be described. I cannot forget what was said at the beginning of the survivor timeline and it sound like that: "Forget the old Lara, she is a completely different person..." |

Just my interpretation, but I see her as being a more empathetic take on the character. By the end, she has the thrill seeking personality, the wit and the cheerful attitude of the original but she's generally more caring and welcoming of others than classic Lara.

TR has had some amazing voice actresses but honestly I just don't see Camilla at as higher level of the other VA's. She is good actress but for this role we need somebody else now. I agree with what people have said about more empathy being brought in but honestly I would just rather have an approach that is more edgy rather than kind.

My perspective is that I love classic Lara and I follow reboot Lara primarily because of her being a iteration of the same character. That's why I have big positive reaction to things that bridge the two variants such as the retro skins and manor. I hope as Lara becomes more hardened the traits of the two version will get closer together and this will resolve some of the differences. The dual pistol wielding and more sass/ humour will hopefully happen and be big moments. |

I think changing voice actors at this point would be a mistake. As much as I miss games coming out about the Lara I grew up with, the Survivor timeline is very well defined in the public consciousness and Camilla is the voice of this Lara.
Even if she takes a step back and they hire other women to do the quite demanding work of the body and facial motion capture, I hope she continues to do the voice acting so we can at last have a consistent Lara Croft. |

I am not a big fan of double, but this is a personal opinion as I said before: I never played anything before the survivor era so... I do not want to get involved into this argument |

I'm personally in the new VA camp. It feels time for Camilla to go to me. The survivor arc was always toted as a trilogy and Camilla voiced Lara throughout that journey. Regardless of how I feel about her potrayal of Lara which I feel was consistently spotty and marred by consistently poor writing I feel she encompasses that era of reboot Lara's life and character. The later of which still isn't where I feel it should be.
I feel, as do many it seems, that there will be a large break now both to benefit from the jump in console generations but also to assess how the series and Lara as a character should move forward. I personally don't feel Lara has shown enough growth nor progressin towards a recognisable Lara Croft character and I feel Camilla is tied to that feeling. In the next installment I'd like to see it jump forward a few years in Lara's life to her mid-late twenties and be represented by a more witty, refined and more impotantly fully british actress who can deliver the type of accent Lara Croft should have. Plus, it seems that 3 is the magic number now. Jonelle had 3 games, Keeley had three games and now Camilla has had three games. I'm fully convinced it's time to move on in many respects and Camilla is one of them. |

I wouldn't mind a new VA. I only hope she's from Britain and popular so that the game could get even more traction. I think it was a good idea to get someone like Camilla who's versatile in the industry and has a following from her own career.

I think it's important to go with an actually voice actress too: Not just someone who wants to have a go. Lara is a high profile character and she neds to be done right in all aspects. Even in shadow there is a very big discrepency between Camilla's acting and her voice acting.
What I mean by that remark is that it's incredibly clear when Camilla is in a room with someone acting out the scene and when she has clearly been thrown into a booth to read for the documents. One side is notably worse than the other. |
