So sad they haven't marketed this female empowerment angle more it would've worked wonderful for marketing.

Is that woman's interview available to watch yet?

One thing I'm most worried about is the cinematography. Everything from the trailers looks a little too... clean... this film would've really benefited from a handheld camera style approach. Kinda like the revenant or Logan.

![]() The cinematographer worked on the recent critically acclaimed Mission Impossible movies so they know how to direct action. ![]() |

![]() I think the only positive thing is that they seem to be using lots of extremely long rails for cameras in this film so we should be getting action shots like we've never seen in anything before. They appear to have created extremely long rails a Camera can track on I think their infamous for being used in that Mission Impossible 3 scene where Tom Cruise runs forever in one take and their using that for both Hong Kong and her running in the Jungle. But lately in films I haven't seen that type of camera work mainly because Action scenes don't tend to be that physical. ![]() Last edited by GeekOfComedy; 27-02-18 at 03:26. |

I am glad that they took this more light-hearted approach. The gritty approach worked amazingly for the game, but I doubt that the audience would have liked it in a two hour movie. Anyway even rise wasn't as brutal as the original game.

![]() There's plenty of other small shots like this, but I don't think you should overdo that style. It gets really tiresome, especially in a theater. Use it when it's necessary, and I think that's what they've done. Like I believe Logan and Revenant did. They had their fair share of "clean" shots. Here are some more handheld cam shots. Seems like hey are using the technique for more intimate moments, whether it's tighter action or visceral character moments. ![]() ![]() ![]() Last edited by Twayne; 27-02-18 at 07:43. |
