I won't quote the contents of the post (as I don't think I'd be allowed to), but this is what he wrote in MGC as to what one of the consultants said to him back in last June.

By strange coincidence, just an hour ago I used an old phone to check what was on a micro SD card I found and found some texts by Spong - from 2010! I had asked him what's his favourite health bar, to which he said it was PC TR3's. Then I said how it's so minute, and he said part of the appeal is how minute it is as it doesn't get in the way. A few more texts later he told me to choose my questions wisely as he's running out of credit.

As well as his funny and intelligent posts I really loved the article he wrote for ostercy's fan page (scroll down a bit). A great guy in general, I still can't get over the fact that since I came on these forums Spong as well as rr_caroll are no longer with us.

It's so weird that someone just posted in this thread as I was just thinking about Spong.

I was just thinking that it's such a shame he doesn't get to be with us with all the upcoming hype and media surrounding ROTTR.

I'd love to know what he would have thought of the trailer that hits tomorrow...

I've made multiple inquiries as to what caused his death and no one will answer me. It's not as if I was doing so for the sake of gossip or notoriety. I was hoping to spread awareness, but somehow that's been deemed distasteful. His symptoms seemed alarming and frightening to me from the outset (For those with access, see his post in MGC - Penny for you thoughts II, dated 06-05-14), but I also am a bit of a hypochondriac. Evidently we're better off in the dark, and have nothing to learn from his harrowing experience.

With whom did you inquire? Justin? He might not know. I thought he was going to ask Trevor (the housemate of Spong's who contacted us), but I don't know if he ever did, or if he did and didn't get a response, or got a response and doesn't feel comfortable sharing.

The main thing I'd like to know is the actual date, just for commemorative reasons. I also recall talk about wanting to know his cause of death for awareness/pooling money for a donation to a charity/hospital that helps with whatever he went through, but no luck.

I Googled around to see if he had an obituary online, but no luck there, either.

Also, thank you to whoever re-opened this!
