Beta Cutscenes

So it seems like TRU DS cutscenes were taken from a beta/early version of TRU
Here's a video comparison between both Beta & Final versions:

There's a lot of differences. Some things looked quite better in Beta T___T

The beta version looks really cool
But the latest version is definitely the best

Very interesting. I only recently realised that the cutscenes in DS were slightly different. I like the somewhat shiny hair shader in the earlier versions. I think the only instance the lighting was better was in the Mother cutscene where the ether was glowy and a big light source in the scene. Less doppelganger smiling funny was also welcome- they made her way too expressive in some scenes and that wasn't necessary. Also, the camera distance in Alister getting shot scene also packed a bigger punch like that. An interesting comparison video overall, thank you for sharing!

i like that she has more of a resting bitch face in the beta cutscenes, some could be seen in the gameplay trailer reveal. suits her more imo

Nice find!!! Interesting.

The lighting is definitely better in the final version... the yacht lacks some decorative objects & details in the beta. Looks like they didn't add the blue glow effect to Thor's artifacts yet when the cutscenes for the Mediterranean and Thailand levels were recorded. Some of the beta camera angles are also used in the Wii and PS2 versions. Kinda unusual to see Lara wear the Jungle Shorts outfit at the manor haha. Lara's motorcycle is grey instead of black.. During the scene where Lara finds Thor's hammer, the path behind her is completely intact and there are no swinging hammers. Amanda's hair in the beta is static and doesn't move at all. Lara wears her winter outfit during the Arctic Sea segment (instead of a diving suit). The 'mother scene' is a lot more atmospheric in the beta, for sure. Yep, I definitely prefer the less animated and stoic facial expressions on Doppel. Gives her more of a creepy vibe; don't know why they made her do the Pixar faces in the final game.
