Oh, no. I remember Spong from when I joined. His posts always jumped out as being very funny, and whip smart and honest. I seem to recall him and I getting into a very funny war of words a few years ago; I wasn't a match for his reasoning and wittiness.
I think this is a reminder that internet message boards are communities, however unconventional they are and no matter how little they seem like them at times. We're all people with a common interest, and as such when the news hits that one person has passed away, it feels the same as losing in "real life"; whether they be someone you know from passing or a dear friend.

I honestly had a feeling...

I'm really gonna miss his posts, and it's a shame he won't be here to discuss the upcoming TR with us.

Since I don't have access to MGC, could someone possibly inform me of what he said about his illness over in MGC?

It was already posted and taken down. It was just him telling us about his symptoms and how his doctor visit went. He hadn't updated us since mid-June. After that until his passing, we don't know what was going on. Someone asked Justin to ask Spong's roommate via email about what happened, but there's no news yet.

This is so sad, Unfortunately i can't say anything apart from what others have already said. He will be dearly missed, he was one of the most memorable members here and used to have such a humor! He will not be forgotten. R.I.P

I liked his posts they were entertaining and at times through provoking. It's always sad to here someone passing away. RIP Spong you will be missed.
