Default Tomb Raider 2 - Raytracing

Someone made video of Ray tracing in Tomb Raider 2, using the Reshade GI plugin. (If you don't know what ray tracing is, it's the best form of lighting in computer graphics, its what animated movies use, like Toy Story). (Also just realised this is Openlara but it still looks really good.)

It looks weird, like some evil black shadow is trying to possess Lara, but that's probably because the light appears to be coming from the camera position. That aside, It does look pretty good, better than I expected actually.

Yeah, there's a weird ghosting effect but that happens in every game because it's working with what's on screen and not the entire level, so it has to re-adjust on the fly.

Yeah the shadow surrounding Lara is off putting. Level looks like a sun bulb from trle was placed into it.

That is intersting, though I really think it doesn't scale well to older games.

And there the author still has to find a way to fix the problems that come with it being screenspaced.
As the rays that are being casted can't access the data that is beyond the screenspace or hidden by objects, there is this weird ghosting effect.. especially around Lara.. Well what Deathly Karma already explained

As the tech evolves I thought it could look cool in Crystal's games like TRL or TRA someday

This isn't proper 3D raytracing, it's a post-process screenspace solution. That's why it looks kinda weird in places.

Can you add the bloom effect on top of that?
