Deathless Rourke and Farty old Winston against each other to decide who becomes the Tomb Raider's Butler, whoever's destined to be.

I don't really care for any of the supporting characters since none of them have actually been developed or flashed out. That includes Jonah who appeared in all 3 games.
Hell, not even Lara developed and she is the lead. So I say none of them can return for all I care. I just want Lara. |

I think Reyes could return, now that Alisha is all grown up and can probably take care of herself. Like being Lara's mechanic.
In the same vein, Kaz from the reboot comics: she could work well as a Zip-like tech gal. Jonah I think deserves a break now, let him be happy with Abby for a while. And then there's Sam, which I think it could be really interesting. They spent so much time apart that it could be really interesting in exploring how each of them changed during all those years, and see if their friendship/romance/whatever you think their relationship was can still work after all this time. |

Reyes wouldn't come back i dont feel. I get the impression that after the events of Yamatai she would be far too concerned with her daughter to risk leaving her alone again.
Jonah has had a nice stint in the reboot and seems like the logical candidate to come back but honestly I'd much rather his story ark finish up with his staying with Abby. A new era with new characters is best I think. |

None, they were all rubbish.
But if I had to choose; Rourke or Abby. We didn't actually physically see Rourke die, tbh. |

None of them. I would prefer new characters.

I remember getting so hyped to hear Sam and Reyes returning in Shadow in that french magazine or whatever. Shame it was false information, I really would have liked that far more than what we got. They did say they considered Sam for Shadow so I hope this time they'll actually bring her back seeing how Jonah is with Abby now. I really don't see them keeping Lara as a lone wolf, so I'd rather have Sam which is an already established character, it makes the most sense, they're best friends, have shared trauma, we spent a whole game saving her only to vanish from the sequels with minimal references, etc and there's people who want her back and who haven't read the comics. They can of course come up with new characters too that they would meet along the way. I'm sure they wouldn't write Sam like in TR2013 where all she needs is rescuing so she deserves a second chance. She proved herself capable in the comics
