How times flies ! I remember the first Chibnall series as yesterday and BBC was hard defending the show. Feels weird. I hope for the best !
I'm still worry about the anniversary special though. The show will be 60 in two years and they said having no plans beyond 2022 and no showrunner yet. They shouldn't rush everything so I'm not sure they could put a special.

So if Series 13 is next year and Series 14 the year of the Anniversary, perhaps they could time the end of Series 14 to be in line with the anniversary. So a huge season finale or something. God know what they'll do.

But tbh, if the show actually goes back to being good, I don't mind if they don't go crazy for the Anniversary. I just want proper Doctor Who back.

That would be so good ! Series 13 will air this end of the year and the specials in 2022 but I'm not sure they could produce a series in time for 2023. Who knows maybe they can, when Moffat takes the reign for Series 5 there was no hiatus and they managed to not wait that much when it was Chibnall's turn for Series 11. Though the fact there is no plan and no writers right now I'm sceptical.
Another idea they could prepare a movie for the anniversary and introduce the new doctor there, but it could be unfair for the new actor to play with already popular and confident actors. I dunno.

You may be right, if the 14th series could be that good, I could do without the anniversary but I would be automatically disappointed at first, inevitably.

oh yeh I just realised Season 13 is this year. I meant the whole era ending next year with the specials.

I'm hoping they can find the new show runner and start planning for S14/Anniversary now, so they can start filming as soon as they wrap up Chibnall's era. I hope we don't have a long wait for the next era.

I think they need a new type of monster to shock us all, we have had Daleks and Cybermen that have now been well overdone, then the brilliant weeping angels, those were real creepy moving so fast when you blinked

Yes, something new we need.

I loved the weeping angels at first but again they were overplayed and ruined in the episode about the forest for me.

We definitely need something new: not just with a horror twist but some nice things too like the Ood and the adipose.

Speaking of, I will never, never, NEVER, NEVER get over the fact that the Class cliffhanger will most likely not be resolved. Man, that was so amazing and was completely squandered.

I really enjoyed Class. I'm annoyed that it didn't get a second series but also having been cancelled Katherine Kelly was wasted in it cause I thought she would have been a brilliant doctor.

Are you talking about the episode where Amy thinks she's turning to stone? I liked the overall idea of an image of an angel becomes an angel and Amy having to navigate the forest with her eyes closed. That was very intense, imo. However, I believe this was the one where angels were killing the soldiers by snapping their necks? Even though we didn't see it, that pretty much made them less scary and mysterious in a way. They just become another alien species out to kill. Although I liked Bob. Bob deserves all the recognition

Even with it cancelled, I can't agree that she was wasted. She was by far the best of the characters and without a doubt the most well rounded one of the bunch. Even with her in the (current Doctor) role she would've flubbed, the Doctor is just written terribly in the past two series.
