Oh Tomb Raider Chronicles. I almost finished it in the Dreamcast.
But then Lara fell to her death. I went and selected "save" instead of "load". I panicked and did the same to my backup save. I'm still salt at myself after all those years. |

I've done the same silly mistake in TR3 when I progressed as far as Lost City of Tinnos.

Sorry, but that's hilarious. Especially since you did the same thing to your backup save as well.

I loved what the TRC stories did by continuing the worry of the players that Lara Croft had actually died at the end of TR4 in the tomb. If you had been around at the time to play these games as they were launched, we had a real worrying time if Lara Croft was still alive
We start in TRC with a remembrance statue of Lara Croft and all the mourners telling wonderful short stories of her life to commemorate her. That's what makes TR5 really good, because we get varied adventures, each a different but fantastic short story. On the downside...(PC version and others) The last level of the VCI story was really buggy, and the androids did not comply sometimes with their AI to follow Lara, and many of us ended up under the gas room to trap an android that never appeared (many backup saves were required to get through it). I had a cartoon drawing at the time, showing this frustrating situation Quote:
In fact due to the limitations of the TRC game engine with reduced computing power at the time by most players computers, specialist enemies like the floating lazer head in Rome were designed as a one off. A lot of these enemies could have been far more difficult to beat if they were multiple versions attacking Lara. Here using modding techniques is the floating lazer head model x 3 in my video below, and if that had been in the game, it would have take a long time to get by it LOL. (By the way TRC is the hardest classic TR game to mod, as it can crash so easily after modding, due to its large data files compared to previous TR games). |
