Roths pistols are in there. Come on now ffs. What is she waiting for? It better be Shadow. Reboot Lara loves that exact leather jacket, she wore it in the Rise announcement trailer, the Movie, and now in the comics.

It was the 2nd arc that she went to Ukraine. Why would she mention that in Rise? Or that she went briefly to the U.S. or back to Yamatai, for that matter? She'd have no reason to. Yeah, they're meant as a bridge to gap the games and the comics did have little clues that made it into the game. Such as Ana, and Trinity turn up, Richard's research tapes and books which Lara is also uses in Rise and we got a glimpse of Lara's flat. The comics are mostly standalone stories that aren't meant to be essential reads, though it's clear they have clues as mentioned. Whether this follows through in Shadow will remain to be seen. Actually, it's going to be interesting trying to spot things that may be clues in the current comics.

I think some of the clues are her fighting skill. They've been showing her fight a lot more in post Rise comics and in this 3rd issue they're showing Lara change her axe to a sword. So in Shadow I think we can expect Lara to be more skilled.

Of course. Daddie issues again? Really? :/ It's the worst and most hated motive in TR series.

I understand your frustration, Sam was barely mentioned in Rise besides a campsite journal of Lara's. However, when was Lara supposed to talk of these events? Were Lara and Jonah supposed to have a chat about it as they're scaling the mountain or Lara tell Jacob her story while she's warming up in his little den? While it would have been nice to have the comic events mentioned, they're not relevant to the game plot. There are plenty of cutscenes as it is, and CD need to consider length of each scene and time taken up by them overall, so this means sticking to stuff that is relevant to the game's plot.

Those who read the comics may recognise Ana as the woman talked about in the comic or know just how involved Trinity have been in Lara's life since Yamtai etc. But we must consider that though the comics must be doing reasonably well for CD and Dark Horse to keep them going, there are plenty of game players who may not even be aware of them. Kaz can't suddenly be mentioned, for example, as players who haven't read them will be confused. And Lara can't be too different as the comics are mostly standalone and the stories can't directly contradict the games. Imagine if Jonah and Lara had started talking about saving Grim's brother In Mexico, people who hadn't read the comics, would probably be wondering "wth?"

I've rambled enough already. I just like that the comics exist and are an insight into what is going on in Lara's life between games, even if they are only fun side stories with the odd small clues.

Do you guys think the sword on her back is a hint to her future fighting skills? She's been going through a lot of training over the past few comics set after ROTR. There's also the leaked concept art that had Lara wielding a machete?

Here's the sword she's wielding:

Does that mean we'll finally get other melee weapons?

Hopefully, and I'd also like a spear, and dual axe wielding psychopathic fun! I want to cut a bitch.
