They'd probably use it as a reference for the current decompile projects like opentomb or openlara. I also heard talk of it being used as a reference to improve some imported enemies in one of the level editor extenders. Can't do much else with the code without running into legal issues, heck probably can't even use it for the stuff just mentioned without legal issues.

OpenTomb and OpenLara are not decompilation projects and to my knowledge don't rely on official source.

TOMB5 and TR5Main are the only two decompilation projects. You're right though, unauthorised use of official code can bring in a range of legal issues so I doubt any of us will be using it.

Cheers.

If the source code being found would lead to some cut moves from the betas being added back in, then I would be quite pleased.

(I lowkey crave a beta-esque TR3, even tho I love the final product )

Er, nothing. Source code is used to compile the game.exe thats whats released and thats what you play, the source is kept by the game studio and usually under lock and key. Except in rare circumstances its not released to the public and any leak of the kind discussed here is strictly non legal.
