Oh wow, that's awesome! Really interesting to see AoD tech used for a different type of environment.

I'm shook that there was even anything to show at that time!

It kinda looks like it although I'd rather assume it's a random outdoor testing area. Not anything related to the plot yet (if that already existed in 2000).

I thought Turkey as well but there is two points :
- Ellioft reminds me that they considered the full locations with Murty Scofield, so not before 2001 apparently
- At the same time, Core already had some ideas in 2000 like Castle Kriegler, as shown in Chronicles extra contents.

It's highly possible that this a random testing area, as Maverin suggested.

Yeah, I'm pretty sure that this had nothing to do with the actual game and was never meant to be included in it. It was probably just a prototype to test out and show off their new tech.

Just a tech demo, I recognise those water textures from TR4 any day! This was made before June 2000 so Chronicles wasn't even out yet - remember how a new team developed the PS2 engine first then when Chronicles finished those developers joined and realised the "engine was a mess".

That said seeing this demo - they should have stuck with this direction. Smaller scope for sure but that still looked a lot like a Tomb Raider game

^^^

Yeah, so I'm assuming then that this video here is from the original Core "B" team that was developing AOD. This is really interesting, thanks for posting!
