Easter egg and observation
I don't know if I'm 5 years too late with this, nor do I expect anyone to even see this post, but I'll go ahead and submit it anyway. I found a couple of things while replaying this game. The first appears to be a comic book page. Alex is holding a book while talking to Reyes about an electrical problem and you can see the page during the cut scene. The book itself is even called "Egg" so this must be pointing to something! I thought, perhaps, it was to the tie-in TR comic, but it's not, so I don't know where the EE comic page comes from.
The giant you get the rope ascender from has a stuffed rabbit in his back pocket. |

The comic book is a real book called Egg, by Chris Sturgill. Maybe the name is familiar, probably not, but Chris was an environment artist at Crystal and worked extensively on the game. So it is something special to someone at least.
https://comicbookrealm.com/series/32459/287357/egg The stuffed bunny was just a toy Boris found on the island. It was a bit of an inside joke on the team, Brandon Fernandez (anim lead) replaced Lara with the bunny once so you could run around as the giant Lara sized stuffed rabbit. |
