Yes, it's definitely true. It can be seen, for instance, when you compare the Anniversary rendition of Tomb of Qualopec to the original.

Replaying Anniversary right now. Totally forgot about the existence of the wall grapple. What a pain it can be...

Ah yes, this stuff really can get annoying sometimes. Wish you good luck.

Isn’t the grapple a mechanic to master? Just like every control in the original needed to be mastered. Isn’t that what you guys love?

To an extent it can be mastered, but combine the grapple with bad camera work and it's luck 30% of the time if you make a certain jump or not.

The classics had a geometry grid system. You always knew if you would make a jump or not or how far Lara could jump. (except that one stupid jump in Nevada desert in the waterfall area, where Lara for some reason couldn't hang from the ledge)

Unfortunately. And it probably diminishes the chances of having a Tomb raider 1 remake and kills the hype over possible remakes of other classics since their style/idea of remake is to cut content and release.

Hopefully they’ll take inspiration from it for other remakes.

Probably time constraints, they’d already missed the 10th anniversary so they likely had to hurry up.

Also for the grey/dull colours I saw mentioned, this wasn’t a Tomb Raider specific problem, almost every game at that time did this and I still don’t understand why
