The almost inaccessible and hidden exotic palace in TR4's Khufu’s Queen’s Pyramids level, was a well hidden easter egg, until found many years later from the launch date...







You can play my downloadable demo to reach the inaccessible temple.
Download (unzip and play)....Admire the soldiers fighting the scorpions, then slide down the cliff edge on to the boat, you must land on the boat, then move along with direction buttons on top of the water to the landing area marked (Ctrl and up arrow), use those buttons together to get out of the water, then go up and jump over the gap to the temple. If you get stuck just use the saves in Load game.

Von Croy's glasses come to my mind as an easter egg. Probably most fans know about them. You can see and even pick them up in Coastal Ruins after leaving Hall of Demetrius using the secret passage.

I don't recall many easter egg-like references in the game besides the Indiana Jones skeleton already mentioned above. But here's a few intesting things I've taken note of.

This is Von Croy's first appearance in Egypt - just after Lara exits the Tomb of Set. You can tell by his iconic hat.



The plot takes place in December 1999 which pretty much matches the retail date. See calender at Jean-Yves' place.

The Eastermost egg in TR4 I know of is the programmer's hidden dedication (to his daughter iirc) embedded in the executable and readable in plain Engish

(even without opening it in a hex editor it should be fetchable using any old text editor, that's near the end of the tr4 exe file).

Yes.

Edit....
You can use fly cheat 'DOZY' in the TR4 game disk version.
But you have to get to the Khufu’s Queen’s Pyramids level.

You cannot use fly cheat in my demo, as the code for swimming is in a different location.
So 'DOZY' does not work, but i have given saves in the demo that take you directly to the temple,
if you cannot use the boat method as described.
