Shadow as it's the one of the three which best balances the gameplay. The stealth combat is much better than wave style and the tombs/puzzles are more expansive. It was definitely a better version of Lara than the disaster of Rise Lara.
My order would be Shadow > 2013 >>> Rise |

I have to say Shadow. Albeit I'm absolutely not happy about what went down with this game, it's still the most Tomb-Raider-ish game of the reboot series. It tried to so many things right - and even though it failed miserably at some points, I still value the effort.

Personally, Rise. It boils down to better replay value, variety of environments (snow, forest, desert, Manor), and story progression (the final battle was so satisfying).
I really enjoyed Shadow (especially the better tombs and graphics) but found the above elements lacking. It could have been improved with a chapter replay mode and the rumored Croft Manor DLC 8 as a more satisfying ending to the game and reboot trilogy. |

It's hard for me to decide. I think Tomb Raider 2013 is the best game out of the three even if it doesn't much really resemble "Tomb Raider", but it felt like a complete story.
Rise had the exclusivity deal drama and is so forgettable I don't even really care about that one. Shadow has better gameplay but has such an underwhelming story/end of the trilogy, as well as the issues we've had with the outfit restrictions/DLC etc... it's just left a bad taste in my mouth. |

It's Shadow > TR2013 > Rise for me, but it's mostly based on how I feel about these games, not from a technical standpoint.
TR2013 was a solid start, but heavily lacked tombs and puzzles and had too much combat overall. It was quite atmospheric and fun to play, though I was dissatisfied with the ending and characters. I also ended up really enjoying the multiplayer mode, even though I hated how it was abandoned and left in a ridiculously buggy state with no further updates. I also loved the excitement leading up to release, the community was thriving, fans old and new were both thrilled to see what comes next. ROTTR was a huge letdown for me. The exclusivity deal killed all the excitement for me and left a very sour taste in my mouth to this day. The game itself was great technically, a very solid experience overall, many aspects were improved upon compared to its predecessor, but it didn't go far enough. To me it felt like the exact same game with a slightly different story. The DLC tombs were better, but not good enough, the side characters were still very dull, I found the side missions to be annoyingly boring fillers and I was greatly underwhelmed by the story and what the game had to offer. The post-release content was awesome though, Endurance was fun, the cards and different modes added replayability, we got classic outfits and Blood Ties as well. It still didn't save the main game for me, which was too much of the same, I wasn't a fan of the environments either btw. Shadow took a much bigger step in the right direction, I found the game to be MUCH more enjoyable, loved the puzzles and tombs to bits. I'm not a big fan of Paititi as a ginormous hub and I still had problems with the story, but I was very pleased with the gameplay and fun factor. I saw actual development and improvement in areas I wanted to change the most, which shouldn't have taken this long. Technically though it's not nearly as good as Rise and I'm not happy at all about how the DE was handled. I didn't expect much, but it turned out to be way worse. I just hope the future of the franchise won't be filled with disappointments, but I don't even know at this point. |

Shadow. Its atmosphere is top notch, the music is a series best, the level design is much improved, and the story hits some great beats.
Overall, Shadow>TR2013>Rise. |

Shadow. All round it’s the best experience not just in the reboot but in the series for a long time.

Shadow. I still think it's the best TR game since CD took over the franchise.
