I guess not.
You did open this thread saying there wasn’t enough combat.
So why would I assume you’re joking about the combat in TR13 being boring...?

Sora stop being so intentionally obtuse. I was joking when I referred to the other person as a buffoon but yes I do find combat to be the most exciting. You are a clown. and that's no joke

Right. So you find the combat to be exciting.

So therefore, you weren’t joking.

LaraLaralara, while its fine to have a differing opinion to others, please don't resort to name calling of clown or buffoon, joking or not.

The old school formula for Tomb Raider games IS DEAD.

The last Tomb Raider game that has that formula is TEMPLE OF THE OSIRIS and that game bombed.

Which is weird because GUARDIAN OF LIGHT was sort of well received even if they're basically the same game.

Not bashing on Temple of the Osiris though. It's actually one of my favorites.

If we're going to be pragmatic on things...

Tomb Raider 2013 is the BEST SELLING Tomb Raider game ever. Fact.

Temple of the Osiris came out after 2013, and fans of the 2013 reboot may have felt that this game is a letdown even if this game is obviously targeted for a different set of demographics. Still, the bottom line is, this game didn't do well. Meaning, the lobbying strength of the old fan base is not that strong anymore. Nor do they make a strong consumer target base.

Had the reboot games like Rise and Shadow came close to the 2013 design, they may have had better sales and critical acclaim. Sure, the forums would be fuming, but forum reception is not a strong indicator of overall sales potential.

If I remember correctly, Tomb Raider Legend was also heavily bashed when it came out because it no longer resemble the classics. Only later in time was it vindicated because it sort of aged well.

Not really? Temple and Guardian of Light are more-arcade shooters, they're not really comparable to the PS1 games.

Plus Resident evil 6 was the most succesful Resident evil game, you know, the infamously terrible one.

Heck AOD sold more than Anniversary.

Shadow's amount of combat was fine. I'm not particularly a fan of cover shooter combat, so the less combat the better.
