Default Underworld on the PS2

Just a few minutes ago I ordered myself one of the most exquisite Raider games on eBay just so I could finally add it to my PS2 collection. I’ve played both the PC and Ps3 versions and enjoyed them both, now what am I in for when I play such a masterpiece a third time?

Seriously though, is it a good port as long as I remember it was for last gen hardware?

There's always YouTube to check full walkthroughs of it on the PS2.
I can't speak for it myself but there are obviously mixed opinions about it.

I linked a few threads below that should give you an overview of the average player's opinion:

Frankly it's not. Legend and Anniversary are great looking games on PS2. Underworld is not. It has no excuse for looking and playing as badly as it does. Eidos clearly didn't cough up the cash necessary to make a decent port. They paid bottom dollar and it shows.

That said, there are some people who did enjoy it. I hope you have some fun with it. I played the Wii version (based on the same port) and I'd call it bad, but not terrible. OK, very bad, but it has its moments.

While it isn't up to the graphical quality of Legend and Anniversary, I found it to be much more enjoyable than its next gen counterparts in a few areas. Because of the hardware limitations the levels are a lot more sprawling and feature pointless rooms, I actually got lost a couple of times like the classics.

It also has barely any enemies, but that helped add to the feeling of isolation for me.

I didn't play the Wii version but it's apparently better.

You might be in for a shock its a very bad port and the levels are a lot more simplfied in the ps2 version. That said it can be completed quicker.

It's no substitute for the X360 version but there's great fun to be had with this port, especially if you consider the different layout of the levels, with tons of new areas. The environments are ok, but Lara looks just awful. It's like it was done on purpose to disencourage people to remain in the sixth generation.

Just a little quick update, the game's coming in the mail tomorrow. I'll share an imgur link if you wanna see a pic of it.
Funny thing is that the seller put in his bio "Not all games may come with their cases" so I might be in for a surprise
