Indeed. Semerkhet was clearly ahead of his time

I often wondered how Lara knew to go the Sphinx for the Holy Scriptures since it isn't referenced anywhere else in the game, so she must've taken the map into account.

Yeah I always wondered that too - especially since (while the game doesn't allow the player to do this for obvious reasons) what if she had ended up down in the Temple of Horus without the 4 Holy Scripture statuettes? Total FUUUUUUUUU---- moment for her. She only knows from what she read in Semerkhet's tomb that she has to be in the Temple of Horus beneath the 'ageless pyramid'... she doesn't read anything about the Sphinx (or about the other pyramids for that matter).

But, if we take into account that at the end of 'Citadel' she's seen swan-diving out of the building and presumably into the Nile river, plus the Citadel itself is on the east bank of the Nile, so she would have to cross over to the west bank to continue onwards to Giza, she would presumably arrive at the Sphinx before the Pyramids. But we'd have to map that out exactly.

In fact, looking at your in-game screens now: in the map room, the entire Giza complex is actually rotated wrongly. Both the Sphinx and pyramids need to be turned one 45 degree rotation to the right in order to match up with reality. The Sphinx faces east towards the Nile.

Its a good job that Lara Croft was there looking at that map room and thinking it out. But if it had been Indiana Jones, he would have taken the Map room as being geographically correct, set up his staff with the sun, and the rays pointing to the location he wanted, then ended up with a 45 degree rotational walk to the right directly into the River Nile and drowned

Great Chi, you are too much

None of that could have happened though because we all know Indi died in Angkor Wat, sometime before 1984, by badly miscalculating how to step around a spiked floor...

It would have been nice actually to get an alternate ending where she learns about the holy scriptures only inside the temple of Horus when it's too late !

Also for the plothole, I think maybe it has something to do with the cut diary ? Maybe the big map in that level would have been kept in her diary and she would have noted some stuff ?
