What do you mean? Rise was an Xbox exclusive + Shadow was promoted by Microsoft. Is there anything more to it? Did they buy the rights to TR’s marketing?

Most likely yes. But I know that when Rise finally released for PS4 the account made a post about it with the caption welcome home Lara

Microsoft has no interest in Tomb Raider now. They wanted it as a competitor to Uncharted, but now that Uncharted is mostly finished unless they do a spin off then Microsoft won't be interested in trying to grab for Tomb Raider again.

I don't necessarily agree with this, as Crystal have worked closely with them since Legend. Plus, currently Microsoft seem to latch onto any major IP, as they have very few of their own, so I could honestly see them doing the same with Tomb Raider again in the future.

After the treatment the series got with Rise I would put it down more to whether SE would want to work with them in a publishing/promo capacity again. The series was essentially thrown to the wolves for Fallout 4 when they realised Uncharted was being delayed.

I’m sure there was a rumour that Square wasn’t happy with Microsoft the end. Square wasn’t happy that they allowed Microsoft to buy Tomb Raider as a timed-exclusive and not promote it as promised focusing more of their time on Fallout 4 and Halo.
