AoD was already in development during the development of Chronicles, the veterans were on TR5, the others on AoD.
The team of TR 5 have said multiple times by now, when they joined AoD, there were no management, nothing was done, because they were just learning the engine (Maya).

This never happened either.
They got an outdated dev kit, so they had to redone everything. The problem was, they were focusing so much on animations and such, that they wasted half of their time.
Also worth to mention, the engine couldn't handle big levels, like the Parisian Ghetto (memory issues), so the levels had to be cut, or split into multiple parts; in the meantime they've reached 2002, the original planned release date, but Eidos gave them one year.

This was very minuscule, they had to redone the control scheme, that's all. That took them a month, if I recall correctly, insert release.
By the time of 2003, the game was not finished and Eidos ordered them to push out a product, they've paid for, whatever state was in, because they thought Lara's image/ earlier successes will make up for that.

Long story short, AoD was never scrapped. It was in development hell, which is different. If it would've been scrapped like you said, there wouldn't have been a E3 showcase in 2002.

As for it being a 'passionate project'...
I just love how many of you ignore the -unofficial as of yet - planned ending of the trilogy, also their new game.
Lara was supposed to turn out a nephilim/superhuman like Kurtis. Karel never actually died and by the end of all, finally Lara was to retire.
The introduction of Kurtis, was a way of 'testing waters'. In case AoD performs well, and the reception for him was good, he'd have gotten his own games.
1. I specifically said that AOD was being worked on together with Chronicles. I'll pull up the interviews with Core because that's exactly what happened.

2. This also did happen, it was one of the old videos from ign or another media that talked about how what they had was too much for the PS2 to handle. They went in it not knowing how powerful the console would be.

3. It wasn't a small change, they had to force Lara back onto the grid because they were running out of time when Sony denied their request. It's why the controls we have now are terrible, because AOD was originally not developes with Lara on the grid system.

The same PS2 that ran god of war 2, RE4, Bully, the Godfather, MGS3, TR anniversary and Shadow of the Colossus is the same PS2 that couldn't load all of Paris ghetto and its endless glory. Something wrong is not right in all this but I guess we can all believe whatever we wanna. There's people who still believe in Santa Claus anyway

Returning to this forum. Seeing people still talk about AOD in the future section. It says something.

It's not something I believe it is a fact and I told you where it came from.

I know some people don't like AOD but you don't get to make up your own facts because of it. AOD for example is the only game or one of the rare few to utilize technology that made real time reflections possible. AOD wasn't just a game, it was an entire project that other developers wanted to source out for their games.

The project was too big and ambitious and thus it had to be scaled down. That's why the game got delayed a second time.

It's Angel of Darkness. People won't forgive how unpolished it was and won't forget how cool of a game it was supposed to be. As a huge AOD fan myself, I'm literally dying to see it remade someday in future.

Warts and all, I simply find AoD infinitely more interesting and enjoyable to play than Legend and Anniversary. I can't remember the last time I actually finished the latter two because they just bore me and I wind up bailing a few levels in. It's a shame as there's a lot to like in Anniversary, but you spend the majority of the time shimmying across white ledges and I find it dull.

Underworld is great, though.

The Reboot Lara Croft model actually looks really beautiful! But with all the ugly stupid puffy hairs in the front like in the games she looks so bad!

WHAT THE **** !!!!!!!! She looks Dope. This needs to be a thread here. People should start modding lara for Tomb Raider games this way. This is fantastic. People need to see what a girl she can be without snow, mud, blood and butt ladders.

I don’t think they realize how terrible the hair actually makes her look. It’s so unkept and messy.
