I've never once done that and you're not told you can do it. Seems like an exploit a la corner bug if you ask me.

Although Nate can knock someone out by landing on them from grappling which Lara cannot do and should be able to.

That's something I would like to have seen introduced in Shadow rather than the stupid string up mechanic.

I think I would have liked Rise and Shadow a hell of a lot more were it not for their CG trailers. Those trailers were so good they made the games look lame in comparison. That's where most of my initial disappointment with Rise came from actually.

I love UC for how they aren't afraid to go with the dare devil type stunts and long leaps. Lara in the trilogy feels so grounded with poor animations and basic cover shooting. If anything they should incorporate more of what was in that video into Lara's moves and maybe add some flips and acrobatic melee.

The only thing I saw in that video that Lara can't do is shoot while grappling. And maybe I'm wrong, but that looked like it was a form of slo motion. She can make pretty daring jumps with the axe grapple pretty much how Nathan does here. I don't know how basic the cover shooting is, you're on your toes the whole time and move about and jump, go from cover to cover, climb, or stay still if you want to.

Nathan's moves are always in real time. Slow motion isn't really used unless you have low gravity mode on What makes UC gameplay so adored is how great they make regular gameplay look to where some think that it was scripted when it wasn't at all. Lara's animations all feel and look so jerky that she looks almost out of place with her environment. It's just so goofy. Nathan can shoot while swinging, climbing, or falling even. Not to mention that his melee moves are seamlessly tied in with the environment and his enemies. The shooting in TR is unweighted, and she can only shoot while aiming. And sloppy axe swinging is just sad. In comics she knows how to kick box so idk why its taking them so long to implement a better fighting system.

Well duh. It's her origin story, she can't do all those moves Nathan does because she was supposed to be inexperienced. /s

On a serious note, I do hope they'll be able to go crazy with the mechanics unless some higher up says No. I can't really fault crystal dynamics after learning how much restrictions they had to endure in making the trilogy.

Judging by the long time they're taking on the development of the next TR game (which we may see releasing in late 2022 or 2023), i think a lot is gonna be changed this time in terms of gameplay. At the very least of chances, they might be doing another revamp to the engine just like the TRU to 2013 transition or most probably updating the rebooty engine to incorporate newer animations including different posture, way of running, proper roll, shooting with duals, some acrobatics, better grappling / use of rope etc. Looking forward to what new they bring to the table this time.

I wouldn't be surprised if we get more OTT storylines too in the post-origins games.

Bringing supernatural things more prominently back into things.

Or maybe that's just wishful thinking on my part.
