Maybe this whole franchise should be renamed "Tomb Rebooter". They're approaching the point where any new instalment, of whichever nature, is a reboot. Never been much into the films, but here's to hoping that they will move towards the classics anyway.

I’m confused where did it say anything about it being rebooted again?

It was part of the announcement.

Ah, I see it now. Hmm. To be honest. I’ll be fine without another movie. Let them take their time and work it out. The Netflix series is still coming up. I’m more excited about that currently anyway tbh.

Considering only recently there was slight update to the project, very surprising.

But MGM seems to be kind of in a troubling state for a while now, so maybe it was a long time coming.

Good news is that it sounds like there is quite some interest in getting the Movie Rights...that is very good.

Bit sad losing Alicia Vikander and getting another Reboot, but who knows where this goes.

Good.

It was getting too late and really wasn't needed. Let's just focus on getting the games done correctly first.

Well I'm really sad

Alicia was Lara Croft in my eyes, I really hope the next actress will be talented and not just an eye candy popular persona with big breast or an overhyped actress or another change to make it more hype.

Graham King is still attached it will be so stupid to not use Alicia whatever the format will be.

Apparently those production companies were interested

Paramount the king of cheapness giving us multiples budjet cuts for two movies in a row
Netflix
Legendary (for their mid budget flicks)
Warner Bros I don't know...

I personally hope that Crystal Dynamics makes a wise decision on this and can continue the work done by Alicia Vikander to offer a direct sequel to the 2018 film that went on to gross $275 million at the worldwide box office.

Facing a new film reboot would be too chaotic for the viewer and the franchise in general wouldn't be taken as serious by the GP.

We are already at that point. The GP would have forgotten about the 2018 movie now, so it really doesn't matter if the next film is something new.

The GP arent half as dumb as people seem.
I see this always as an argument about comic book movies etc, that the GP wouldnt get that, would be confused and all...but thats not really the case.

The GP doesnt have a long lasting opinion on the series unless you regularly feed them with it.
I doubt too many remember the second TR movie from back in the day or that it made the IP be taken less serious etc.
