Notice how both Rise and Shadow lose quality as the game progresses? Syria, Siberian Wilderness, Cozumel, Peruvian Jungle are amazing but then everything seems the same.

It's not exactly the largeness of Paititi and the Geothermal Valley, it's more that they never used their sizes to their advantage.
If the story segments in both hubs weren't restricted to the same areas over and over again, I bet people would actually like those environments. Especially Paititi: it is a great hub to explore, and great to learn and create different routes from every main area of the hub. But you only need to keep going between SE same two areas to advance the story, so what's the point. Would say the same thing about geothermal valley, but the only interestingly designed area there is the remnant village. The wild valley areas is way to horizontal to be interesting. |

A bit OT:
I started another playthrough of TR2013 (first time I touch this game in....I can't even remember how many years) and I don't know if something is wrong but hell, the difference in terms of audio quality between SotTR and TR2013 is insanely massive. It feels like going back into 2005 with TR2013 wtf. |
