Modifying TR3 secrets counter!

Hi all!
Finally I have been able to discover investigating where are "harcoded" the information of the secrets in the tomb3.exe.
So I decided to improve a fast a little tool.

The instructions for use are easy:

-Copy the program "tr3 Patch.exe" in the same root directory where the tomb3.exe is located.

-The program has an interface to modify the values ​​of each level.

-Click on Save! to save the changes in the tomb3.exe.

Some notes:

- value 0 (none secret)

- value 32767 (maximum number of possible secrets for a level)

The changes in the tomb3.exe work with versions downloaded from TRLE.NET, I do not know about other versions.

I'm not sure if i will make something in TR3, but this should be applied ASAP for Feder's game!

What is really interisting in this, is that you can increase the amount of secrets considerably.

Is it possible with this create a new kind of gameplay for a level if you have to reach 30 secrets in a single level?

Also, if you are building a new entire gameset, it's now possible to include a "new extra bonus" level by filling with zero the rest of level which are not used.
And finally we will fix the final statistics that say "xx of 59" secret in total.

EDIT: Look at the total number of secrets in the game!!!

Arsunt is already working on that!

In the upcoming features, the number of secrets will depend on the game script and will end being hardcoded. You can view the unreleased features here! -> TR2Main Changelog

I tested TR3 secrets counter using the original, NO-CD tomb3.exe + Win7 and the secrets counter works like a dream
I've waited something like THIS for AGES and now this is really true ^^
Now we can finally modify the amount of the secrets ^^

Thanks, leveldesigner1. Glad to know that you find this very useful and I appreciate your report. Seems that all tomb executable files are almost the same, so the tool should work without any major problem with any version.

I didn't know where to put this , but I have included the option to enable Flight Mode with the secret counter, all-in-one file.

I was thinking not to have patches all around separately that realizes many functions, so here is my contribution:



As you can see, you just have to mark wheter if you want or not to have the flight mode ability enabled in your game. It works for TRLE NO-CD tomb3.exe.

Go to the first post of the thread and there you have the links updated for downloading.

If the Tomb3.exe file is set as "read only" you can't save changes. It will show up a msg box like the next below:



You must right click on Tomb3.exe file, and then uncheck "read only" flag. Apply changes. You will be able to update changes.
