I think we won't get anything until they actually decide the direction of the next game/games and announce it to the public.

Which is a shame, I need those comics!

Makes sense. It makes the fourth game even more mysterious.

I wonder if they will even continue with the comics. And if they do, will they need a new comic publishsr? SE and CD pretty much messed up with the colouring book comp, leaving Dark Horse to clear up after them.

I still need to get that colouring book. I don't suppose someone would like to gift it to me? . JK.

Dark Horse still has the comic rights, at least for now, regardless on how SE/CD/both f-ed up that competition. Still, if they go for a new publisher, they could either go with IDW which also has experience with licensed comics, or perhaps Marvel considering they are working on Avengers (though Marvel only works with either their own or other Disney IPs like Star Wars).

This is why I don't get this whole thing.
The earliest comics post-Yamatai perfectly presented Lara as she was left at the end of the game...

And the big thing about reboot Lara in the comics is that she doesn't really feel like a different character from her games counterparts, it's more of a case of the comics exploring both her dark and lighter sides, which (shock) makes her a more compelling character.
... and when ROTR/SOTR came, I saw nothing of that Lara, who has been hardened between the games; she was only present in the comics only.
I can put the games into the comics universe and get a likeable picture of the current iteration, but if I put the comics into the games' universe, it's just doesn't feel right.
Mind you, this problem I have with the Top cow comics too. (even if they are not officially canon, the Laras are supposed to be the same, while the og Lara feels nothing as the Top Cow Lara, who is actually better than her ingame counterpart.

...can't deny that the comics help a lot in that enjoyment.
The comics are definitely helping to understand her.

It just goes to show how much better the writers can do with Lara Croft.
It might not be exactly what I would necessarily like to see but it's undoubtedly a step up to what we have now.

Maybe it's time for Square/Crystal to remove the several sticks they have up their butts and let the creative people do the creative work.
