Honestly, what does Shadow of the Tomb Raider mean? People have thrown out various weak and unconvincing explanation, but I feel the fact it's up to debate like most elements of the reboot shows they didn't push hard enough with their vision or really drive the points they were trying to make with the series.

Yeah its pretty clear that the basic planning for the reboot was this:
1. decide to make a trillogy.
2. built first game around set pieces then bring in the writer and overrule them.
3.Copy trends.

4.realise you didn't actually plan the sequels in advance.
5.Retcon and shove important plot information into optional collectables in second game.

6.Screw it, give another developer the third game.

7.???????
