All I wanna say is : this article is outdated.

"Let's write something useless on a recent game, and make more bad advertising on it !"

I hate this kind of criticism, I mean when it's about things that don't need to be criticized, and I love these death scene! Of course they're not essential but they make dying epic

So an M-rating game can't show brutal deaths because it has a female protagonist, and one of the reasons is because a similar franchise with a male lead from a different developer doesn't have them?

I mean, I could understand if both Tomb Raider and Uncharted had the same developer, but saying women can't die horribly because men don't isn't sexist?

All the animations are outdated tbh, but as far as the death animations go... I’m fine with how they are in Shadow. It didn’t quite feel like there was as much of a focus on them in that as it was in the previous two games, and it didn’t feel like it dragged on as much, all similar to the classics. Idk.

They're not talking about the animations per-se, but about the fact that they are brutal and violent

I'd prefer actual animations though rather than forced mini cutscenes.. (think classics and LAU)

Sometimes it looked like Lara teleported.. or other times they reused the same debris and animation over and over in several different areas in the game.

The death animations in the Reboot games are purposely made to be brutal.

In TR2013 they wanted the player to feel sympathy for Lara,
and the gruesome death scenes are a way to achieve this.

Also, the "shock" factor can prevent the player
from making the same mistake.
Since the death is so brutal, you try harder not to see
the animation again.

This article failed.

And with all the advancements in tech — did you know there’s a real-time physics simulation dedicated to rendering Lara’s ponytail? — these scenes have become so realistic that they’ve almost tipped into being creepy torture porn.
And then right below it they show a video with Lara's ponytail bugging out in a death cutscene.

What a ****ty article. I love the gore. It makes the whole experience feel more grounded. Everyone whines and moans. Just enjoy this great game!

I see. Well, they should get used to it. TR always had quick, yet violent death/ death animations so they’re asking for another game otherwise, in that regard.
