I love all the "hidden rooms" which, roughly speaking, are similar to classic TR "secrets" where advanced platforming is often required (well, in Control's case, advanced levitating).
The puzzle to "luck and probability" had me stuck. I had it 90% solved, but in the end had to resort to a game guide on the intranet to complete it. It was very.... fishy ;-) I can't wait for the DLCs. I can definitely recommend this game to TR fans. I honestly don't know why people on here aren't raving about it more often. |

The games use of exploration really reminds me of the classics, where there was no handholding. It's just so fun to get lost in this game. Even the approach towards storytelling feels like the classics. The cutscenes aren't long but they're to the point and rare. I think my ideal TR game would combine this games approach toward exploration and cinematics with Shadow's approach towards puzzles and traversal. Heck, if they could manage a lighter tone, I'd be all for Remedy tackling the next TR title. Last edited by TrustyBow; 17-09-19 at 18:26. |

Well deserved. I honestly wasn't expecting to enjoy the game as much as I did but almost everything about it was spot on. Great visual, audio and gameplay direction which made for a great atmosphere.

The new Control DLC "The Foundation" will be released after midnight. A 3.5 GB downloadable game update is already available now.

I feel like this has come quite a long time after the normal release. That's good as it clearly is post release content not cut content saved up but I've forgotten the games mechanics etc now. I'll need to get back into it again at some point.

Honestly, Remedy has never rushed to release content. Even the spans of time between their new game releases is quite long.

I still think it's amazing how control manages to give us non-obvious ledges, and camoflaged cave entrances up near the ceiling.
These things were available in classic TC but not in TReboot |

The dlc, at least as far as I can tell, seems to confirm that we're getting a sequel. It leaves too many loose ends that would be impossible to address in the next dlc.
It seems like The Board might be the antagonists in the sequel. We see here that they really don't have the Bureau's best interests in mind, and that they're mostly acting for their own gain. Former, who was previously framed as a villain, actually seems to be on Jesse and the Bureau's side. I love the reboot but I'd totally be fine with Remedy taking over the franchise. |

Not tried the game yet.. not sure what to think of it.
I hear it also features an Alan Wake easter egg.. which is awesome as this would be the first piece of new A.W content since the spin off ''sequel'' in 2012. Apparently these games both take place in the same universe or something.. both made by the same company too. |
