Not available in my country .

Nevermnd I found an alternative link. Looks very good. It's not a genre I'm usually into but the trailer intrigued me.

@PinkyPromise, this might be best off in the dedicated Alicia Vikander thread. I just can't find the link for it atm.

Found it: https://www.tombraiderforums.com/sho...d.php?t=223250

It's all about WHO you know when it comes to Hollywood. You make one connection and it can open up so many doors. Actors and directors like to know that they can have a good working relationship. Movies are often on a strict filming schedule.

I also think it's likely that Alicia might be a Exec Producer on this movie giving her some weight in decisions being made?

I really doubt Alicia is financing this.

She has her own small production company... Daniel Craig is an Exec Producer on the Bond movies. It's not unheard of!

Edit: She's listed as a Producer on Euphoria.

So a Producer is like creative.

Executive Producer is financial. On TV Shows the Executive Producer is different and is more like the HEAD creative producer but on films it's strictly financial. Vikanders company is a production company, not a distributor. Distributors are what fund production companies like GK Films to make films although MGM definitely has access to capital but that's an outlier. Production companies make their money with straight up salary, performance bonuses and if MGM have to distribute this internationally themselves, "MGs" to shield themselves from risk.

I believe that Executive Producer roles can sometimes be a general term for individuals that take part in the non-creative aspects of the movie. Like for example, I think Daniel Craig is an executive producer on the Bond movies so his likeness can be used in video games and so he can play the character outside of films (He appeared in advertisements as Bond).

It's possible that if Alicia was responsible for hiring Amy & Ben, that she would gain an executive producer credit. If she has her own production company though, I don't know why she wouldn't just take on a main producer role (Although I guess we don't know this yet). Her husband did the same thing with his Assassin's Creed movie.

Exec Producers are usually just vanity titles for most actors it looks good on their resume and shows they have a hands on approach. They could literally contribute to what they think is happening in a scene or give a suggestion and in theory get an exec credit. It doesn't always have to be for the financial side of things a lot of the time their name being the star of the vehicle and attracting other members of the industry can earn them a credit to.

Regarding Alicia throwing her own money at this through her own company I believe if she was wise she would just foot the bill and have everyone else pay for it she's already doing her part at driving the movie and has made her salary before hand. The old adage Why bark when you have a dog comes to mind.

That's associate producer for vanity titles. Graham King is the LEAD GUY who bought the rights for Tomb Raider etc and was day to day on set in South Africa managing Roar and Vikander. He is the main producer who gets final cut on the film, hired Alicia and hired Roar to guide his "product" to success. Executive Producer for 2018 was Cassidy Lange and at the time: Gary Barber who look after the money and they are the ones who give the infamous "studio notes" although Lange sheparded Geneva's involvement in the movie. They'd interface with WB who at the time had a strict policy (Kevin Tsujihara) that all movies needed to be 2 hours or less so they could play more showings in cinemas.

Also producing is such a non acting job that it's rare for actors to make good producers, I mean Michael Fassie messed up Assassins Creed because as a producer, no one told him an action movie should start with an action sequence - movie making 101 and if anything works in that film, it's just the acting.

So even for Bond: the Broccolis are THE producers for Bond, it's been in their family for generations so they have final control over how Bond behaves etc because they own the rights which are very lucrative for them as they get merchandising cuts but even still, MGM still has to be the executive producer to get the money for Bond 25.

Ben Wheatley was recording a podcast tonight for Empire seems to be a Halloween addition. Hopefully when it releases we hear a bit more about the film.

Meanwhile:
