Arrow Flare-Ladder-Wall Glitch/Shortcut (Barkhang Monastery)

Link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mOmpYY4FfRc

This is Barkhang Monastery. I've seen speedrunners do the ladder-wall glitch in order to make it up to the top of ladders more quickly than glitchlessly climbing them. I've tried to do the glitch myself but haven't had much joy at pulling it off. I've been trying on the PlayStation version. I don't know if the problem is that I'm not doing the glitch correctly, or if the glitch doesn't work so well on the PS version than other versions. Either way, this is a glitch that I don't do a good job at pulling off. In this video, I show you an alternative glitch which I find a lot easier to pull off. It's a flare-wall glitch which sends you to the top of the ladder when done correctly. I don't know if this has the potential to be faster than the ladder-wall glitch, but I do consider the glitch to be easier, more reliable and a good alternative to the ladder-wall glitch. If anyone else has problems with the ladder-wall glitch then maybe you might take something away from this video.

Are you playing from the PAL version? IIRC, that version has glitches specific to it which is why you don't see them in PC speedruns. Heck, even different pc exe have subtle differences that make certain glitches easier. Some versions make glitching up that ladder in particular trivial because of momentum differences, where as other versions will send Lara falling to her death back at the bottom if you don't know what you're doing. Took me forever to figure it out on the version I migrated to.

Here is another way to get up that ladder fast with a special glitch, but a word of warning, watch how you do it, as it can get really messy

I just checked my TR2 disc and it says PAL on it, so I guess it is the PAL version.

That works also.
