Wow, this looks great so far! Love the gifs and screenshots you posted. Always good to see more people building Kurtis-centric levels! Good luck with it, and I can't wait to play it!

It's been many years since I last updated this thread, but I have some news.

Kurtis Trent Chronicles had died a death. Why, I can't quite remember. Maybe there were some bugs picked up in testing I couldn't squash. Maybe I'd ran out of steam. Maybe I got too distracted by other things. Who knows?

But anyway. Fast forward to last weekend. While working on my current project, I found myself needing to check the KTC project files to reference a setup I wanted to use in a current level. While I was there, I thought, 'Why did I never finish this project? Maybe I should give it a test play and see what went wrong'. So I did. A few hours later, I'd not only found the problems that had made me quit several years earlier, but had found a workable solution and fixed them. At long last, the Kurtis Trent Chronicles could be played from beginning to end, problem-free.

I still felt the project was a bit rough, though. After all, this is something I'd intended to have finished five years ago, something I'd begun working on ten years ago(!). So over the past few nights I've been tweaking the levels, then loading them into Metasequoia, fixing texturing, making environments more organic. It's not perfect, but what is?

So tldr; THE GAME IS FINISHED!

It could probably do with a couple other people to give it a final test before I go uploading it on trle.net, but other than that, IT IS DONE. FINITO. THE END.

Good luck on your release!

Years and years ago I had the same idea lol, named it Kurtis Chronicles (though now I know I should've called it Kronicles) but never got past any small unreleased concept demos.

Yours is much better!
