Too dark!

Is there anything I can do to improve the display? It's too dark!

I've turned up the laptop brightness to max, and the game options brightness to max, but I can hardly see anything in so many places.

Honestly, I can only suggest playing in a darker room seeing your picture.

Looks like your laptop screen is just not bright enough to play in such a bright environment (and not many screens are! most content are best consumed in dark(er) rooms).

awww, that's a shame, it's too addictive to resist waiting until it's dark -- and then the wife want's the light on!!

This is one of my pet peeves in Shadow. We should have gotten control over Lara's torch and switch it on Manually, just like in Legend.

It's a small symptom of their new design philosophy of a game on rails that is truly bringing down the series. Little things like this here and there that take away player control destroy the entire experience. It's such a shame that you can't control the color of the LED lights yourself and light them when you want. It's almost like they don't exist to me the way they did it, and I LOVED those every since the first Tomb Raider movie used them. What a damn shame.

I also hate the fact that you don't have control over your light source or flares neither in Rise or Shadow. For me that was very annoying and a wasted opportunity, hopefully in the next game we can toggle them on/off manually like in TR2013. That game actually did it well IMO.

Did you try changing the brightness settings in your graphics drivers as well?
