Default Replacing TR4 music with newly remastered one

I have tried to replace the original wavs with those from the recently released remastered The Last Revelation album. But when the game loads, the intro theme is simply not played. Any idea why not?

The original wav has around 6 MB, the new one when converted from FLAC or MP3 around 23 MB. Could be that the exe file cannot load such size?

Many thanks for any suggestions.

It could also be, that your wav has a wrong format. Unfortunately, I don't know wwhat the right one is. You could ask in the Level Editor section. Someone there should know.

So TRLE audio is in Microsoft ADPCM 44.100 kHz, 4 Bit, Stereo format. The container is .WAV. I assume it’s the same for TR4 but I could be wrong.

Don’t worry about the file size being large, WAVs always are because of their uncompressed nature. Shouldn’t be an issue for the engine.

Thank you both! Choosing this bit rate makes the new remasters work in the game Wish the engine could run the remastered FLAC without any compression though.

Ooh, I've been trying to convert the remastered tracks with the audio converter built into NG Tomb4's tools, but it doesn't work.

McPherson, please can you tell me what program you used to do the conversion?

^ Adobe Audition, save as, choose Microsoft ADPCM.
I used it to convert the English voice of Jade Empire, which is a custom level.

I used Sony's Sound Forge. It does the job in a few seconds and was able to use all the remastered tracks in the game. If anyone needs help with finding the corresponding remastered track - just send me a PM
