Default Tomb Raider - Dino Temple

As this is going well now, I think it's time to share.

On her continued search for the Dino Stone, Lara has discovered the temple after making her way through the Dino Caves. The search continues...

Really like these traps BTW

Love to hear feedback.

Looks great so far! I love seeing TR1-inspired levels, mostly because I dont feel like I see them that often, so this is quite nice.

Thanks. I have about 6-7 minutes gameplay so far and that's in 39 rooms (some are combined)

However, I think something doesn't look right here. Anyone see it?

Like where this is going!

You can experiment a bit with the lightning. Try to darker the overall room, and place a white/grey sun and maybe some bulbs to create a strong contrast? Keep all your lightning white/grey. Don't add colors, except for a very subtle glow for water and fire. See how it works.

Another thing, that might be the one bothering you, is that TR1 didn't have broken squares, so seeing a broken square in a TR1 level, feels unnatural.

Personally, I prefer to add colour to the lighting. It looks too bland otherwise however, that is my opinion

EDIT: The issue I was pointing out was the floating break-away tiles. Easy fix though

So I have hit a dead end (who would have thought), I have 2 possible gameplay scenarios.

1. Artifact room is dead ahead, trapdoor opens on approach leading to lower area (TR2 Temple of Xian style), tasks required to return

2. Artifact room is located much deeper inside and requires tasks to even reach it.

With the 6-7 minutes of gameplay so far, doubling it shouldn't be a huge issue.

Which one would you prefer?

Hmmm... I don't think we have many of those "TR2 Temple of Xian style" setups. So I like that option.

I may go for that then. Was recently replaying TR2 and I quite liked the whole "dagger is there but trapdoors surround it."

Best get some ideas to go around that.

A little time and extra care goes a long way

This is working a little better than Dino Caves. Probably because of the extra time and care.
