I love Last Revelation for its Egyptian setting, more fleshed out background for Lara and the way it handled increased difficulty Vs. TRIII but I feel like it dragged on for too long. Definitely third best of Core's games but for me it barely makes the top 10 and only if we're excluding spinoffs.

I mean Rise was good but they're really going to put the OG at number 3? And have all three reboot games in the top 4?

My opinions change but if I had to personally rate them currently:
10. GO 9. Shadow 8. Legends 7. Anniversary 6. Last Revelations 5. Chronicles 4. Tomb Raider 2 3. Underworld 2. Tomb Raider 3 1. Tomb Raider I use to hate Underworld but the replay recently made me appreciate her movement (peak in the series) and the levels are so high quality that they have the best variety. The story is lame yes but the gameplay is all I care about. Tomb Raider was never known for their stories. 3 I had hate for it but the challenge is part of the experience. The pain and suffering gives it peak replay value because of the challenge. The levels are massive and they truly put a lot of thought into them. The original is still the best in my opinion. 6 I haven't played but it's broken. 13 and Rise are not Tomb Raider games, Temple of Osiris I haven't played.

These kinds of things are subjective. Some games don't connect with people, and TR4 certainly did not with me. |

I agree, after Alexandria the game stops being fun. The Cairo levels and the Mastabas are the worst levels in classic TR history.

Even though it was the first point where I got properly stuck, Cairo is the area I remember most vividly and fondly. The rest of the game is mostly a blur but I very clearly remember baiting the big dude and exploring and tearing around on the bike.

These kinds of things are subjective. This section connected with you. You liked it. And that's fantastic. Rise really worked for me. And that's also fantastic. Fandoms, and maybe more specifically fans, like their position as objective, incontrovertible truth, and anyone who disagrees with them clearly wrong or delusional. The list in the OP is subjective. It isn't necessary correct or necessarily wrong. It's just one site's perspective. Just something to be briefly entertained by, and then move on. Except for disliking Garrus Vakarian. You are correct for that. |

I’m probably one of the biggest fans of TR4 and even I can understand the feeling of getting to Cairo, looking around, and saying No and turning the game off.
![]() TR4 is a fantastic adventure, with puzzles and platforming, great places with rich atmosphere! I love this game so much. I understand it’s not for everyone. Some people love chocolate cake. Others not so much.
