They are looking for people comfortable with photogrammetry and PBR rendering techniques on LinkedIn. If this is for TR, we are in for quite a stunning display of realism.

Also, I'm curious to know why the Lead Technical Designer of Crystal Dynamics claims to have experiences in all of those but not the Foundation Engine:

Quote:
Specialties:
- Dunia (Ubisoft in-house, Far Cry)
- Anvil Engine (Ubisoft in-house, Assassin's Creed)
- Jade (Ubisoft in-house, TMNT / Shaun White Skateboarding)
- Unreal
- Unity
- Programming / Scripting Skills (VB, C++, C#, Python, Java, HTML, SQL, ...)
- 3D Studio Max
- Microsoft Project 2010/2013
- Office Suite (Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Outlook)
- Fluent in French and English
Does that mean that Crystal has switched game engines?

He did just start in January 2021. He also mentions Avengers as one of his accomplishments, which means that he has worked with the Foundation Engine or is it Crystal Engine? I forgot. Either way, perhaps he doesn't feel entirely comfortable yet to say he is a specialist. Either that, or they are using something else.

Crystal is coming for wigssssss. They hired the former Global Brand Marketing Senior Manager at Playstation. I do wonder what kind of doors this opens for CD and Sony. He started last month.

A former writer for Star Wars: The Old Republic might be attached to the future TR game, based on what I'm seeing here (Samantha Wallschlaeger).

How do you come to that conclusion? The market for all the eras are completely different. That is like comparing the original Nintendo to the PlayStation 5.

Lool! The gaming industry was a lot different 25 years ago. Don't be silly now.

I fix it for you.

As a fan since 1997, I don't mind a more action focus... But just more interesting than we have now. I want to see the more acrobatic, flashy combat mechanics updated for modern day. I don't mind combat as long as it's fun. For example, I didn't mind the combat it Control even though there was a lot of it.

Bullet sponge mercs, crouching behind cover and tedious half baked stealth elements are played to death and boring as hell.

Your suggestions are tempting and that would be the only way for me to accept a more action focused game. I just don't want exploration to take a back sit, a lot of games have hours of shooting in a linear and non interactive environment and I don't want TR to take this boring direction.
Especially if the next game is the first of an era and probably be the most successful of it. Some people should stop with this argument that action and shooting = only way to success. Legend and TR2013 was getting the most attention mainly because they were fresh and new.

i would love a modern tomb raider legend. no side/optional bs , just a good fast paced fun campy campaign. yea.

either that or a slow paced classic-like exploration based experience.

im tired of these in-betweens.

Uncharted is good start at how you can have fun but somewhat realistic combat. The reboot just badly replicated it. I'm fine with Lara taking cover and using stealth to her advantage but she should be making daring leaps, flips with punches and kicks while doing so. Not just running and hiding. I want Lara to be a master of her surroundings and be able to move fluidly throughout every combat encounter.

Were videogames less of a thing 25 years ago?
